Nicotine is Not the Key!
Recent research and articles are growing the support for our entirely new approach for smokers.
First is the growing distinction being made between smoking addiction and nicotine addiction. I posted an entry to our Sentiens website about this issue recently that is worth reading (“Tobacco, Nicotine and Cessation – Not all are equal“). The reasoning behind this distinction is valid – by separating nicotine from smoking it will be easier to regulate e-cigarettes differently than cigarettes. By distinguishing between the two, the ability to describe e-cigs as harm reducing products can be made, and there is then a legitimate reason to more lightly regulate them. We completely agree with this more pragmatic approach, and support the efforts to continue to research e-cigarettes
A second article highlighted a recent conference held at Duke University through the Center for Smoking Cessation headed by Dr. Jed Rose. In the full story from the Durham Herald Sun, Dr. Rose highlights the evolving perspective and priorities of the healthcare community saying,
“the industry is on the verge of change, when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration starts to more closely regulate e-cigarettes and scientists steer away from the “quit or die” mentality to offer people a clean source of nicotine and other satisfying substances, without the tar, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, ammonia and other harmful ingredients that come with cigarette smoke.”
However, there was something even more interesting in the article. It is encouraging that there is a changing focus away from a black and white “quit or die” mentality to a more practical focus on reduction. But why the continued focus on nicotine? Dr. Rose points out earlier in the article that a study a few years ago showed that people choose the act of smoking over direct nicotine delivery.
“What else is there about tobacco that makes it more addictive than nicotine in isolation?” Rose asked. How can someone be “so addicted to something that doesn’t get them high?”
We believe the answer is quite clear, and that answer is the focus of our patented technology and our Novus products (Novus Twig and eTwig by Novus) based on that BotanicBoost formula. We believe that the actions, including the tactile look and feel, associated with smoking are critical to satisfy the entire experience for a smoker, but that experience does not necessarily require nicotine. By focusing on an alternative and healthy means to deliver a throat hit with the tactile experience.
We invite you to try NOVUS today.
BotanicBoost healthy, natural,FDA GRAS,patented nicotine alternative and in Novus is a better alternative than nicotine, and better than cold turkey or eCigarette to quit smoking.
