It’s not magic…it’s science. The patented Novus® system of products was developed with a scientifically designed BotanicBoost™ formula of natural flavors, spices and botanical tinctures. We invented BotanicBoost because we believed that there was another way to address smokers needs, and that way would not be followed by those already in the market – the tobacco companies and the pharmaceutical companies. It won’t be followed even now when e-cigarettes proved that smokers were telling the truth when they said they wanted a healthier product but also something satisfying. And while e-cigs are proving that product appeal must exist to get harm reduction, we believe that it is possible to go beyond e-cigarettes.

To make a product that is satisfying and healthy, not just a product that is satisfying and less harmful. We created Sentiens because we believe there is a better way to helping smokers reduce and quit cigarettes and nicotine, and that solution can be healthy and beneficial to them at the same time. We believe there does not need to be a trade-off between cessation and satisfaction. We believe the answer exists and lies within the human body and the natural world.

The Novus® twig has and continues to be made in the USA, with the final infusion of BotanicBoost™ and packaging done in our own facilities.

The eTwig hardware is manufactured for Novus® based on our custom specifications in an ISO9001:2001 certified factory in China. The manufacturer also has FDA, CE, and UL certifications. Final assembly, BotanicBoost™ infusion, and quality control is done in our own facilities in the United States.

BotanicBoost™ is produced entirely in Novus® facilities, using natural and organically certified ingredients from U.S. sources.

The Novus® Twig should last about 24 draws, or equal to about 3 cigarettes. This will vary by user and how long it is left outside of the pouch.

The eTwig will last about 400 puffs, which is equal to about 2 ½ packs.

Simply remove the Novus per printed instructions on packaging and place it to your mouth . Do NOT light it. We have found that a slightly deeper inhalation provides a better experience, but you’ll want to do some trial and error to find the best way to use Novus for you…everyone’s smoking style is different. Normal use is between 6-8 draws or the same number as you’d draw from a cigarette. When done, you can return the Novus to packaging, carrying case, or in location away from minors. It can be re-used again when another cigarette experience is desired.

NOVUS® TWIG SPECIFIC GUIDELINES: Each paper Novus® twig, remove it from its pouch and place it to your mouth. Do NOT light it, but draw from it just as you normally would. We have found that a slightly deeper inhalation provides a better experience because the formula is activated through air flow. You’ll want to do some trial and error to find the best way to use Novus® for you…everyone’s smoking style is different. Normal use is between 6-8 draws or the same number as you’d draw from a cigarette. After 8 draws, the intensity of the throat hit may lessen as your body’s senses adjust, but the Novus® Twig is still good and will last as much as 2 – 3 cigarettes. When done, you can place it back in the pouch or a sealed zip-lock container until the next time you crave a cigarette. Once you’re finished discard. The 100% paper Novus® Twig is biodegradable.

NOVUS® eTWIG SPECIFIC GUIDELINES: Each electronic Novus® eTwig, remove it from the package and remove the red pull strip to enhance airflow as desired. Simply press the BotanicBoost button and inhale as you would normally smoke. Similar to the twig, you may notice the throat hit sensation becoming duller as your body’s senses adjust. The eTwig will last the equivalent of about 2 packs of cigarettes.

For each use instance, you will notice a drop off of the warming sensation in your mouth and the Novus no longer satisfy the craving. Please note that the actual ‘flavor’ and ‘smell’ may continue to linger even after the BotanicBoost formula is exhausted in the product.

The Novus® Twig is not intended to be lit, and there is no value in lighting it.  Rather it was designed specifically to avoid that issue when someone is in a place where a cigarette can’t be used or where lighting or heating is not allowed.  As the name implies, the Twig is made of paper both inside and out, so by lighting it you will get smoldering paper and burn up the Botanic Boost formula into the air and not into your mouth and throat.

The Novus® eTwig is plastic, electronic, and contain a battery and like currently available eCigarettes is not intended to be lit.  Please dispose the eTwig in a responsible manner.

This is the natural reaction of the BotanicBoost formula with air. The formula is held in the special paper, but begins to turn into a vapor at room temperature. This allows it to reach your mouth and throat when you inhale. We think it’s kind of cool, don’t you! (pun intended)

Our Novus® Twig Product emits no smoke or vapor so it can be used ANYWHERE that smoking is prohibited i.e. workplace, airplanes, hotel rooms, restaurants, hospitals, shopping malls, theaters, New York’s Central Park, etc. (you get the idea – there are lots of places where smoking is prohibited).

Yes. For every use of a Novus twig you can eliminate approximately 2 cigarettes.

Propylene Glycol – The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined propylene glycol to be “generally recognized as safe” for use in food, and propylene glycol is used in cosmetics and medicines. It is used in food coloring and flavoring, as an additive to keep food, medicines and cosmetics moist.

Under sections 201(s) and 409 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act), any substance that is intentionally added to food is a food additive, that is subject to premarket review and approval by FDA, unless the substance is generally recognized, among qualified experts, as having been adequately shown to be safe under the conditions of its intended use, or unless the use of the substance is otherwise excluded from the definition of a food additive.

NO.  While we hope you will enjoy Novus® so much you use them often, it is not a drug or addictive – any more than your favorite meal or some potato chips.  A critical component of addiction is the negative affect or other symptoms associated with withdrawal or deprivation of the addictive agent, not simply a pleasing sensation that one may wish to repeat occasionally.  The physiology of Novus’ effects is essentially the same as wasabi in sushi or horseradish or hot sauce.  Such spices can provide positive experiences that someone may wish to repeat, but in no way can be said to constitute true addiction with profoundly negative withdrawal symptoms.

While an inhalation of a Novus should not have any adverse effects, it is designed for smokers and not intended for use by minors. The ingredients in Novus can be widely found in many foods, such as bread, cake, ethnic foods (Italian, Asian, Mexican), and others, but the form of the product is intentionally designed to support a smoker’s familiar experience.

YES. The great thing about reaching for a Novus versus a cigarette is that it provides the same satisfaction as smoking a cigarette, but without the use of nicotine.

Yes. Based on our testing, the amount of formula that is vaporized when inhaled is between 20-30 microliters per inhale, or about 100 – 200 microliters per use. For comparison, this equals about the amount of ethanol that is in a slice of bread, since ethanol is a naturally occurring ingredient in yeast. It is less than the amount in a vanilla flavored dessert since ethanol is the dominant ingredient in vanilla.

There are no ingredients in Novus that are known to adversely affect a pregnancy, but moderation of use is recommended as with all activities while pregnant.

The ingredients in Novus® are all extracted from spices used in foods by literally millions of people on a daily basis for hundreds of years.  This selection of widely-used dietary spices as the only sources of Novus® ingredients inherently excludes anything that may commonly provoke allergic or hypersensitivity reactions in people.  Furthermore, true allergens in foods are generally proteins.  The active sensory agents in Novus® are extracted into a botanical tincture under conditions that will denature any proteins that might be present.
